Why Authenticity Matters in Corporate Video Production

In a world where audiences are increasingly savvy and skeptical, authenticity has become the cornerstone of impactful corporate video production. This is especially true for industries like healthcare, higher education, and tech, where trust, transparency, and innovation are vital. Authentic storytelling allows organizations to connect with their audiences on a personal level, building trust and fostering long-lasting relationships. At MVP - Good People, we believe authenticity isn’t just a style choice—it’s the heart of what makes video powerful.

The Power of Honest Storytelling

Authentic storytelling is about more than simply showing a brand in action; it’s about capturing the genuine essence of who they are and why they do what they do. In fields like healthcare, where patients place their trust in medical professionals, or in higher education, where institutions shape future leaders, a truthful and relatable narrative is key. And in the ever-evolving tech industry, where change happens at breakneck speed, authenticity helps brands convey their purpose and value in ways that resonate.

For MVP - Good People, our work ethic is steeped in honesty and integrity. We believe that when we do our job well, our clients can’t imagine working with anyone else. That’s because we don’t just deliver polished visuals; we deliver a deeper understanding of the story and message they want to share.

Why It Matters in Healthcare, Education, and Tech

In industries that impact individuals and communities on such profound levels, authenticity becomes even more critical:

  • Healthcare: Patients want to feel connected to healthcare providers who truly care about their well-being. Authentic videos can highlight the humanity within the organization, showcasing real stories of patients and caregivers, and building trust.
  • Higher Education: In higher education, prospective students and their families seek institutions that foster growth and inclusivity. An authentic video featuring students, faculty, and the campus community in action can convey the institution's culture and values in ways that resonate deeply with its audience.
  • Tech: In the tech industry, where innovation and change happen constantly, authenticity can help demystify complex products or ideas. Authentic videos that explain the human benefits of a tech product can make even the most advanced concepts relatable and inspire trust among consumers and clients.

MVP - Good People: Our Approach to Authentic Video Production

At MVP - Good People, we believe authenticity isn’t just a quality—it’s a commitment. We approach every project with honesty, integrity, and a drive to make a meaningful impact on our planet, culture, and communities. Our ambition is not just to produce beautiful video content but to leave a positive mark through our work.

Our emphasis on being good people goes beyond being “nice.” It means consistently showing up with integrity and a collaborative spirit. Whether it’s inclusive casting, thoughtful messaging, or working with bold brands to achieve daring goals, we are dedicated to creating honest, meaningful content.

Our mission is simple: provide peace of mind through exceptional work that is on time and on budget. Our guiding principle, “yes, and…,” empowers us to tackle challenges with enthusiasm and an open mind. This improv-driven mindset means that “no” isn’t in our vocabulary; we find a way to make great work happen.

Why Authenticity is Key to a Lasting Impact

In an age where polished marketing is everywhere, authenticity stands out. Real connections are built not on perfect messaging but on genuine stories that resonate. We don’t just produce marketing videos and commercials—we create visual narratives that reflect the true spirit of our clients. When audiences see authenticity in action, they are more likely to engage, trust, and connect with a brand.

Authentic video production isn’t just our job at MVP - Good People; it’s our purpose. We are here to support organizations that share our passion for positive change, and we’re proud to be a part of telling those stories in a way that truly leaves a mark.

Kickstart Your 2025 Video Marketing Strategy: Tips for Growth and Success

As we head into 2025, video content continues to dominate the digital landscape. Businesses of all sizes are prioritizing video in their marketing strategies—and for good reason. Whether you’re promoting a new product, building brand awareness, or engaging with your audience, video is a powerful tool for storytelling and driving results.

But if you’re wondering how to create an effective video marketing strategy for 2025, you’re not alone. Let’s walk through where to start, the key formats to consider, budgeting tips, and why video should be at the heart of your growth strategy.

1. Understand Your Audience and Set Clear Goals

Before diving into production, take a step back and ask yourself: Who are we creating this video for? Understanding your audience is crucial for creating content that resonates. Are you targeting new customers, existing clients, or stakeholders? What platforms do they frequent—Instagram, YouTube, Vimeo, LinkedIn, or TikTok?

Once you know your audience, set clear, measurable goals. Are you aiming to increase brand awareness, generate leads, or boost sales? Aligning your video content with your business goals ensures that every video serves a purpose and delivers a return on investment (ROI).

2. Choose the Right Video Formats for 2025

The world of video is evolving, and different formats work best for different platforms and goals. Here are some top video types to consider for your 2025 strategy:

  • Short-form videos (under 60 seconds): With platforms like TikTok and Instagram Reels dominating, short, snappy content is a must for grabbing attention quickly.
  • Explainer videos: For businesses with complex products or services, explainer videos break down key concepts and offer a compelling way to engage customers.
  • Testimonial and case study videos: Building trust with new clients is crucial, and nothing does that better than authentic testimonials or showcasing successful projects.
  • Live videos and webinars: In 2025, live streaming continues to be a powerful way to connect with your audience in real-time, allowing for interaction and Q&A.
  • Brand anthem videos: Anthem videos tell the heart of your brand’s story, encapsulating its mission, vision, and values in a powerful narrative. This format is perfect for creating an emotional connection with your audience and can be used in everything from major campaigns to recruitment efforts.
  • Interactive videos: Interactive content is on the rise, allowing viewers to choose their journey or engage with clickable elements within the video. This format is especially great for product demos or educational content.

3. Create a Realistic Video Production Budget

Budgeting is often the most daunting part of planning a video marketing strategy. But it doesn’t have to be. A successful video campaign doesn’t require blockbuster film-level spending—what matters is clarity on your goals and an understanding of where to invest.

  • Pre-production planning: This includes scriptwriting, storyboarding, and location scouting. Spend time here to avoid costly delays during the shoot.
  • Production costs: This is where you’ll allocate the bulk of your budget—covering filming, talent, crew, and equipment. At MVP - Good People, we specialize in scaling production to meet your needs, ensuring that every project, whether big or small, delivers high-quality results while staying within your budget.
  • Post-production: Don’t overlook editing, motion graphics, sound design, and color grading. Polishing the final cut is essential to creating a high-quality product.
  • Distribution and promotion: Once your video is complete, allocate part of your budget to promotion—whether that’s paid ads on social media, SEO optimization, or email marketing.

4. Measure Success and Optimize for Growth

Once your videos are live, the work doesn’t stop. Track the performance of your videos across all channels to see how they’re contributing to your business goals. Key metrics to monitor include:

  • View count and engagement: How many people watched your video, and how long did they watch? Engagement metrics like likes, comments, and shares are equally important to gauge content effectiveness.
  • Conversion rates: Did viewers take action after watching your video? This could be signing up for a newsletter, downloading a resource, or making a purchase.
  • ROI: Measure the direct impact of video on your business growth by comparing the cost of production against revenue generated.

Use these insights to continuously improve your video strategy. Don’t be afraid to experiment with new formats or styles based on what resonates best with your audience.

5. Why Video is Essential for Business Growth in 2025

Video is no longer a luxury—it’s a necessity. By 2025, more than 80% of internet traffic will be video-based*. Here’s why video should play a central role in your growth strategy:

  • Higher engagement: Video grabs attention and retains it. Viewers are more likely to engage with a brand through video than text or image-based content.
  • Improved SEO: Video content increases your website’s SEO performance, helping you rank higher on Google and other search engines.
  • Stronger emotional connection: Videos allow you to tell stories in a way that builds trust and connection with your audience.
  • Versatility across platforms: Whether embedded on your website, shared on social media, or used in email campaigns, video content works across multiple touchpoints, making it a versatile investment.

Ready to Elevate Your Video Strategy?

As we move into 2025, businesses that embrace video marketing will stand out in an increasingly competitive landscape. The statistic that video will account for more than 80% of internet traffic by 2025 is a widely cited projection based on trends in video consumption. This forecast highlights the growing importance of video in online content and marketing strategies

The Sound of Care: Capturing Stanford Medicine’s Musical Heartbeat

How sweet is the sound of music from the Stanford Medicine Orchestra!

This beautifully talented orchestra is composed of individuals who play vital roles in the Stanford Medicine community, from physicians and nurses to staff and researchers. Together, they form a harmonious ensemble that reflects the dedication and care put into every aspect of this world-renowned institution.

Last week, our team had the incredible opportunity to shoot the first segment of a very special End of Year video for Stanford Medicine. With a small but mighty crew of #GoodPeople, we captured some breathtaking moments inside the stunning Bing Concert Hall at Stanford University. This internal celebratory end of year video will be shared with the Stanford University School of Medicine, Stanford Health Care, and the Stanford Children’s Hospital System, and the theme is one that resonates deeply: Orchestrating Care.

The concept behind “Orchestrating Care” highlights how every individual within Stanford Medicine plays a crucial role in orchestrating a healthier world. Much like a symphony, each person's contribution—whether they're in direct patient care, a researcher, student, or behind the scenes—helps build a harmonious system of care that benefits the community at large.

We are beyond grateful to have been chosen for this meaningful project and can’t wait to reveal more from behind the scenes! Stay tuned for more updates as we continue working on this remarkable project.

Maximize Your End-of-Year Budget: How Investing in Video Can Elevate Your Business

As the end of the year approaches, many businesses find themselves with leftover budgets that need to be spent wisely. One of the most impactful ways to allocate these funds is by investing in video production. Videos are not only a powerful marketing tool but also an effective way to communicate internally and externally. Here’s how you can make the most of your end-of-year budget with strategic video production.

1. Create an End-of-Year Recap Video

A great way to reflect on your year is with an end-of-year recap video. This type of video allows you to highlight key achievements, milestones, and memorable moments from the past year. Share it internally with your team to boost morale and recognize their hard work. Externally, it can be a compelling way to showcase your company’s journey to clients and stakeholders, demonstrating your growth and setting the stage for the upcoming year.

2. Craft a Heartfelt Thank You Video for Clients

The end of the year is the perfect time to show appreciation for your clients and customers. A thank you video can be a personal and memorable way to express your gratitude. Highlight specific achievements or milestones you've achieved together and acknowledge the trust and support they've shown throughout the year. This not only strengthens your relationship but also enhances client loyalty and satisfaction.

3. Develop a Promotional or Marketing Video

As you plan for the upcoming year, consider using your remaining budget to create a promotional or marketing video. This could be an introduction to new products or services, a recap of successful campaigns, or a call-to-action for upcoming promotions. A well-crafted marketing video can help drive engagement, generate leads, and set the tone for your brand’s future initiatives.

4. Enhance Internal Communication with Training Videos

Investing in video production can also benefit internal operations. Training videos can be an efficient way to onboard new employees, provide ongoing education, and standardize procedures. These resources can save time, ensure consistency, and make training more engaging and effective.

5. Optimize Your Digital Presence with a Brand Video

A brand video is an essential asset for any business looking to enhance its digital presence. Use this end-of-year opportunity to create a video that encapsulates your brand’s story, values, and unique selling points. This video can be featured on your website, social media channels, and in email campaigns, providing a cohesive and compelling narrative about who you are and what you stand for.

6. Capture Your Company Culture with a Behind-the-Scenes Video

Showcasing your company culture can be a powerful way to connect with both potential clients and future employees. A behind-the-scenes video provides an authentic look at your workplace, highlights the people behind the brand, and demonstrates the values that drive your company. This type of content can enhance your employer brand and attract top talent.

7. Plan for the Future with a Strategic Vision Video

Looking ahead to the new year, consider creating a vision video that outlines your company’s goals, aspirations, and strategic direction. This can serve as an inspiring message for both your team and your audience, setting clear expectations and building excitement for what’s to come.

And That’s a Wrap!

Utilizing your end-of-year budget for video production can be a strategic move that delivers significant returns. Whether you’re looking to enhance internal communication, show appreciation to clients, or promote your brand, video is always a versatile and impactful tool. At MVP / Good People, we specialize in creating high-quality videos tailored to your unique needs. Let us help you make the most of your budget and set the stage for a successful new year.

Good People, Great Work: A Behind-the-Scenes Look at MVP

Did you hear? MVP was recently featured in an article in The Rockridge News written by Skip Fogarty. Check out our summary of the article below!

In the vibrant neighborhood of Rockridge, where quaint shops and local businesses thrive, there exists a hidden gem that might surprise you. Tucked away on Colby Avenue, in what was once a yoga studio, stands MVP—formerly known as Maximize Video Productions.

Led by the visionary founder, Max Fancher, MVP isn't your average video production agency. With a knack for storytelling and a commitment to excellence, we've been crafting captivating visual narratives for over 17 years. From commercial productions to films, from concept to execution, we handle it all.

"We take pride in our client list," Fancher asserts, his passion for our work evident in every word. "As our business grew, we became able to take on bigger projects for clients like Apple, Genentech, and Covered California. In turn, those larger accounts allow us to also serve cause-related companies and nonprofits with smaller budgets."

Indeed, our portfolio boasts an array of esteemed clients, from corporate giants to local nonprofits. Silicon Valley Community Foundation, Hope Services, and Goodwill are just a few examples of the meaningful collaborations that fuel our creativity.

But what truly sets MVP apart isn't just our impressive clientele—it's our unwavering commitment to doing good. "We look for opportunities to partner with clients who are eager to push the envelope creatively while also doing good in the world," Fancher explains. It's a philosophy that resonates throughout every aspect of our business.

Our journey began with a simple idea—to create compelling visual narratives that inspire and resonate. Fancher's background in sociology and his adventures as a sailor provided the foundation for this vision. "I really caught the bug for making videos on my sailing trips," he recalls with a smile. "Producing video 'scrapbooks' for clients to remember and share their adventures was incredibly fulfilling."

From those humble beginnings, MVP has grown into a thriving creative agency. Our boutique studio space, nestled in a residential neighborhood, serves as the perfect canvas for our artistic endeavors. From edit bays for post-production to conference space for meetings, every corner exudes creativity and innovation.

But our commitment to our community extends far beyond the walls of our studio. "We aim to be good neighbors in many ways," Fancher notes proudly. Whether it's hosting open houses, organizing art shows, or feeding unhoused folks in San Francisco's Tenderloin and West Oakland, giving back is ingrained in our DNA.

At the heart of MVP lies a talented team of individuals who share a passion for storytelling and a dedication to excellence. "Working at MVP is different," says Head of Post-Production Eric Wahlstrom. "Here, I'm given creative autonomy, and my ideas are valued."

Producer, Danielle Cheifetz, echoes those sentiments, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and camaraderie. "Working with other good people only helps everyone grow," she reflects.

As we look to the future, our commitment to excellence and our passion for storytelling remain unwavering. With each project, we strive to not only exceed expectations but also make a positive impact on the world around us.

So, whether you're a corporate giant or a local nonprofit, if you're looking for a creative partner who shares your vision and values, look no further than MVP. We're not just a video production agency—we're a community of good people, dedicated to making a difference, one frame at a time.

Unveiling Our Creative Process through Live Action Pre-Visualizations

Have you ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes of a seemingly simple commercial production? The planning, the creative brainstorming, the meticulous attention to detail—it all culminates in the final product that captures the essence of a brand or product. At MVP, we're excited to peel back the curtain and share a glimpse into our creative process.

In our latest MVP behind-the-scenes tutorial video created by our Head of Post-Production, Eric Wahlstrom, we take you on a journey through the making of a commercial that left our client thrilled and us immensely proud of the result. From conceptualization to execution, every step of the way was infused with our passion for storytelling and visual excellence.

Crafting the Vision

One of the key elements of our approach is ensuring that our clients understand and resonate with our vision from the outset. We believe that a shared understanding leads to a smoother production process and a final product that exceeds expectations. In the video, you'll see how we utilized animated storyboards and live action pre-visualizations to articulate our creative ideas and bring them to life.

The Power of Collaboration

Collaboration lies at the heart of everything we do. Working closely with our client, we were able to seamlessly integrate their brand identity and messaging into the commercial while infusing it with our own creative flair. This synergy between client and production team is evident throughout the video, showcasing the power of collaboration in achieving a shared goal.

From Concept to Reality

Watching the commercial come to life on screen is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our amazing team. From scouting locations to directing talent, every aspect of the production process was meticulously planned and executed to ensure a flawless result. And when it came to post-production, our attention to detail ensured that every frame was polished to perfection.

A Better Experience, Together

Ultimately, our goal is to provide our clients with an experience that goes beyond just delivering a product—it's about creating a partnership built on trust and mutual understanding. By sharing our creative process in this behind-the-scenes video, we hope to give you a glimpse into what sets us apart and why our clients continue to choose MVP for their production needs.

So, sit back, relax, and join us on this journey behind the lens. Be sure to check out our video and discover firsthand how we turn ideas into reality, one frame at a time.

A Conversation with our Director of Marketing, Virginia Cebe

Please help us give a warm welcome to our new Director of Marketing, Virginia 'Virg' Cebe! Virg joins MVP with over 10 years of marketing and communications experience in tech, non-profit, real estate, and advertising. Some things that bring her joy include her rescue pup, hiking in the Bay Area, attending live music events, and creating content. Moving forward, she will oversee our marketing efforts—from social media and events to client relationship management and more!

To help you get to know Virg a little bit better, check out our brief interview with her below!

What led you to work for MVP?

"It's actually a super kismet story! I have a close friend who lives in the neighborhood and we often go on long walks in Rockridge. After passing by MVP's office for about the tenth time, I finally decided I was going to look them up online and see what they were all about. This led to me taking Max and Eric a copy of my resume in-person, which then led to several awesome conversations, and eventually, a marketing role that fit both my skill set and MVP's needs!"

What's your favorite part about working in Marketing?

"I think my favorite part about working in Marketing is that it's always something different. Whether I'm creating content, connecting with other creative people, writing copy, planning an event, or simply sending an email, I love that I'm getting to work in my purpose every day. The great thing for working for a company like MVP is that I really can see the impact that I'm making in the day-to-day business and I can feel that my voice really matters. There's nothing holding me back from reaching my goals!"

You mentioned you like going to concerts, who's your favorite artist right now?

"I'd definitely have to say the artist I keep going back to over and over again right now is Chappell Roan. Her career is really taking off and it's so cool to watch. She's an icon in the LGBTQ+ pop community and I truly believe she's going to be the next Lady Gaga!"

What's your favorite part about living in the Bay?

"I'm originally from the Southeast so first and foremost, the weather in California is my absolute favorite! I love the mild climate here. I've lived in Oakland a little over two years and I've really gotten into hiking since I moved here. Our quick and easy access to insanely breathtaking nature in the Bay is truly miraculous! My little dog, Penny, loves joining me on hikes too."

What's the background on your phone right now?

"A picture of my waggin' tale pup, Penny, after a game of fetch near Lake Merritt."

What's the one piece of advice you'd give to your younger self?

"Always trust your intuition, try not to take life too seriously, and have as much fun as possible!"

Honoring the Legacy of Carl Ray Johnson

Last month, one of our dear friends and colleagues, Carl Ray Johnson, unexpectedly passed away in a tragic ocean accident. Gabe, a producer at MVP, knew Carl for over a decade and introduced him to Max a few years back as Carl was forging a video production company and distinct aesthetic in his new home in Costa Rica. At the memorial, friends and family shared stories making what seemed like coincidences of meeting Carl seem commonplace.

The common theme among the eulogies for Carl aside from his inclusivity, his open heart, and his fearless disposition towards life was a desire to maintain his legacy.

Our mutual friend Pedro, Carl's business partner, is committed to growing the studio that Carl founded and MVP, also known as Good People Pictures of Oakland, have made a small contribution as a gesture to prolonging Carl's legacy.

We invite you to take a moment to appreciate your loved ones and the beauty left in their wake.

Above are photographs from Carl's memorial of friends and family. Please let me know if you need photo credit.
